Gleeeee

It’s ridiculous how much I love this show.  I spent the entire month before the new season started on countdown.  Every commercial was torture.  I generally avoid high school television shows (post Saved by the Bell.)  I don’t watch 90210, I didn’t watch the OC and I certainly don’t watch High School Musical.  But there is something about this show.  I cannot stop myself.  I can barely stop myself from singing along.  Which is why my sister bought me the soundtrack so I can do it in the relative privacy of my own car.  Ava loves it.  I have always been a big fan of impromptu singing you see.  I once spent an entire night speaking to Big Daddy in song.  I wanted to watch Twilight and it was a surefire way to convince him to leave me alone in peace.

Maybe its my inner theater nerd coming out.  When I heard Idina Menzel was guest starring I was thrilled. She’s a Tony Award winner for Wicked if you are like most people and don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.  (Read that book if you haven’t already done so, by the way.)

The characters in the show are priceless.  Jane Lynch is comedic gold in everything she does and continually cracks me up as Sue Sylvester.  She’s so horrible, but so amazingly hilarious.  And Puck.  Sigh.  Puck makes me want to go back to high school and get into all sorts of trouble.  He is the true love of my 17-year-old self.  And if Tracy Flick in Election sang, she would be Rachel.  Love this girl and her embarrassing animal sweaters. When Mercedes covered Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” last week  I teared up a bit.  That’s right people, I almost cried.

I can’t wait for Ava to start singing with me.  Poor Big Daddy.  We’re going to have to get him a man cave.
